25 things (we're aiming) to do this summer

Every summer me and my boyfriend always talk about the things we want to do..but we don't ever do them!!  SO now that I am 21 and no longer pregnant I'm hoping that we can actually go and enjoy some of these events. And after seeing a list of 100 things to do in Milwaukee, I have decided to make my own little list in no particular order.

1. Take my little loves to dance at the Indian Summer Pow Wow.

Of course this means I would have to make them outfits to dance in...i think i will leave that to my mom. But this is the most important thing to me, to make sure my children are involved in their culture as much as possible. I danced when I was younger and I loved it, I don't dance now but I plan on picking it back up. Good workout.

I have a little boy and a  little girl and these are the styles I want them to do. I am still unsure for my daughter if I want her to do Jingle dress or Fancy shawl. But it is set in stone that I want my son to do fancy feather. Burn off some of that energy he has. But I absolutely love when little kids dance, so I was moseying around on the Gathering of Nations website and had stumbled across these photos from Derek Matthews and I am in love.

2. Go to discovery World.
I have Stayed here in Milwaukee for a couple years now and I have never been here and always wondered what was inside. I heard its a pretty awesome museum with exhibits for little ones and adults to both enjoy.

3. Stop and smell the roses at Boerner Botanical Gardens.

Okay, pretty self explanatory. I had seen some beautiful pictures of flowers on the website and I think it would be a beautiful place to visit. And take some pictures of course.

4. Rent Jetskis!!!!
Neither me or my boyfriend has ever driven one of these things and I think it would be pretty awesome to take one out and race on Lake Michigan.

5. Roll down the Milwaukee River.
Either on a dinner cruise or a Margarita Fiesta Cruise..sounds fun.

6. Visit the Fonz. :]

Apparently my boyfriend knows someone who's Grandfather was who the Fonz's character was based off of, and I have never seen the statue.

7. Attend a Brewers game when the roof is open.

8. Go to the beach.
We always do this since the beach is in walking distance from our apartment, and I absolutely enjoy it every time.

9. Take my family swimming at one of the pools.
My boyfriend doesn't know how to swim, I was a mermaid in one of my past lives and my little loves will know how to swim also.

10. Attend an Art Fair.
People my age always talk about there is nothing to do in Milwaukee, but after a little research on the web a lot of stuff goes on here that I never even knew about. I am always looking to discover new things to go out and enjoy doing and this is definitely one of them.

11. Trip to the Zoo!!!!

Either the Zoo here in Milwaukee or the one in Chicago. My son has only been to the zoo twice, once it was rainy and the other time he was with his Grandma. Now that I he is older and can interact a little more with the animals I cant wait to take him.

12. Take kids to a carnival.
There are always churches that have carnivals all summer long, we had a bad experience taking my son to State Fair last year so I would rather just take him to a small carnival to enjoy some rides with a lot less people, and for a lot less money.

13. Brady Street Festival.
My boyfriend worked at a restaurant on Brady for the past 2 years and never got to enjoy it, this time I want him to actual get to experience getting wasted.

14. Eat on the patio at La Fuentes.
     Best rainbow margaritas!!!!

15. Take a trip to Navy Pier.

My boyfriend has lived in Milwaukee his whole life and has never been to Chicago!!!!! I have been there a few times went to Navy Pier when I was young but it was closing as we arrived so I didn't get to enjoy the whole experience.

16. Have a family picnic at the park <3

17. Get bikes then take a nice adventure down a bike trail.

18. Go to Summerfest and be jealous of all those seeing Kanye West.
I procrastinated on buying the tickets and now all the good ones are gone.

19. Attend Big Bang.
Just me and the bf, way too many people to take the little ones along, maybe take my son..maybe.

20. Discover a new Italian restaurant.
I must admit I make some bomb spaghetti but sometimes I like to enjoy somebody else cooking =) I am in love with the spaghetti with italian sausage from Maggiano's at Mayfair, but we currently don't have a car and we stay on the south side so Mayfair is too far to be traveling. So I would love to find something a little closer to home.

21. Fly kites at the lakefront. =)

22. Ice skating!! at the Pettit of course.

23. Take a boat ride n The Dennis Sullivan - worlds only recreation of a 19th century sailing vessel.
How awesome does this sound ??
We can see if thar be pirates!! arrrrrrrr.

24. See how root beer is made at Sprecher Brewery
My boyfriend is in love and has introduced me to this lovely root beer, so hey why not visit the brewery?

25. Play some mini-golf!!!
I was running out of things I wanted to do, but this is classic. Haven't done this since I was a young buck.

Mini Current Obsessions

So I have recently decided to change my style up from urban to a more, feminine style. Less tanks, graphic tees, and sneakers to more dresses, heels, makeup and all other things pretty. So here is just a little look into the styles that I am now into.
